To become a butterfly, the caterpillar should give up its previous form. After that, it becomes something new, while it keeps all the good it has a caterpillar. Our retreat center is doing the same. ๐ฆ

June 12, 2022 at 10:40 amI spent two weeks in March 2022 at Light of the Shipibo Ayahuasca Retreat Center. It is a beautiful property overlooking the Amazon river. My experience there was incredible. From my very first glimpse of the lodge, as we pulled in from the river, I knew it was a very special place. The way the buildings are situated on the property creates a very connected flow with the jungle and nature. The staff members were very caring and went out of their way to accommodate all of our needs. We went on jungle walks and boat rides and the staff members were continually sharing knowledge about the plant, bird and animal life of the jungle. The birds, and plants were gorgeous and I was overwhelmed with the wonders and beauty of Mother Nature. We even saw a sloth with her baby!! The food was amazing and I ate the best bananas ever, all picked right there on the property. The Ayahuasca Ceremonies were very thoughtfully planned out to create an environment of safety, comfort, respect and peace. It was a ‘game-changing’ experience for me and my spiritual life moving forward. I loved every moment of my time there!

February 13, 2020 at 9:04 pmI can definately recommend Brenna’s light. I was with Justin and his family for five days. A great place with great people who do what they can to make you feel as comfortable as possible. As a single woman on foot, I felt very safe. They know what they are doing and work with the medicine in a dignified manner. We were on great walks, eating good food, great facilitating and having good conversations. It’s hard to put words into everything. But to me, Justin was an excellent guide in my own healing process. I’ll be back. Grateful.

February 10, 2020 at 6:56 pmWords cannot describe how incredible my experience at Brenna’s Light was. I spent a long time researching retreats online and as soon as I found Brenna’s Light I knew it was the right place for me to have my Ayahuasca experience. It was the hardest process I have ever been through but having Walter, Lady and the team around me made it so much better, you certainly are surrounded by love. I felt in safe hands with Davis, our Shaman, and he knew exactly the right amount to give me each ceremony. The food was delicious and plentiful, even whilst being dieta friendly. I trusted the universe to put me there with the right people and I could not have asked for a better two people to go through my journey with, there is plenty of downtime to rest and process everything that happens in the ceremonies, and having the other two to talk things through was really beneficial as well as having a laugh. Walter was a brilliant guide, we had a great afternoon searching for dolphins and going to the beach and mud bathing, plus a jungle walk and visit to a local rum distillery. I had some huge releases during my 3 ceremonies and many visions providing me with all the realisations I need to live a freer life with an open heart. I cannot recommend Brenna’s Light strongly enough, and make sure you commit to the dieta before you get there, it’s really worth it โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

January 26, 2020 at 11:50 pmI had a great time at Brenna’s light. They took care of me very well, making me feel so much love and care. The shaman put so much effort in the ceremonies and the Icaros and medicine were healing and powerful. During the ceremonies, I felt lots of happiness and love, so I was so smiley. The shaman did a very good job, always checked my situation, and made me feel safe. They absolutely did their best to heal me and the energy was so pure and strong. Our connection was so beautiful.
There is a family living here taking care of me, preparing delicious meals, and cleaning the space everyday. They also assisted in ceremonies and provided me all the help. I truly thank them for their effort. We also went to the beach to enjoy the nature together. The treated me like family, and they always smiled. I enjoyed staying with everyone here.
The place is located in an isolated jungle. However, it was not too far by boat. The nature was amazing and I felt very relaxed. Justin was a wonderful host, and he always asked me how I felt to make sure everything was ok. I was so lucky to be in the retreat.
Except for the retreat, Justin invited us for meals before and after the retreats. It was so nice to spend time together outside the retreat. Such a good memory!
I highly recommend Brenna’s light to everyone. Come to receive the blessing from Ayahuasca and meet these lovely people. ๐ Brenna’s light is donation-based, and they are dedicated to healing people instead of making money. Their intention is to help people, and they are very honest, trustworthy, and reliable. They knew what they were doing, and everything went so smoothly. They received only few guests in a retreat, so everyone could get the best care. Thank you, Justin and everyone at Brenna’s light. It was a wonderful experience!

January 26, 2020 at 3:47 pmI did extensive research on Ayahuacsa centers in Peru a few years ago and the trip I planned never happened. Friends backed out and it just didnโt feel right. I then made plans to sit in ceremony several times in the US and those too all fell through, the last i was attend to solo and a giant wildfire canceled the ceremony. My Aya dreams were put on hold but I made my intentions known to close friends.
In august a friend forwarded me Brennas Light. The blue morpho logo grabbed me immediately as they are a special guide for me but what grabbed me even more was Justinโs story and that was donation based. When you have a calling in life, it is your passion and great pleasure to serve people. Of course, Curanderos need to pay bills in this earthly realm as well but as Aya centers have seem to become these capitalistic ventures, Brennas Light seemed to vibrate with energy of authentic service to the greater good of humanity.
Needless to say we bought plane tickets and spent 1/13/20 – 1/18/20 with the Brennas Light family. Justin met us by the river in Iquitos and immediately felt like kin. Feeling safe and seen and heard are the beginning of healing and all those feelings were present. We were even approached by several men attempting to sell us Aya ceremonies before meeting with Justin and it just felt gross. After a short trip down the river with the team we arrived at such beautiful land with a giant fig tree and Babecito and Segundo – two of the dogs living on the land greeting us.
Over the course of the week we sat in 3 ceremonies, received Kambo / Sapo medicine and I undertook an Ajo Sancha dieta. We took the boat out in search of wildlife, visited a medicinal rum distillery and swam in the Amazon infusing our bodies with the amazing mud the jungle has to offer. The entire time I felt safe and my body and mind were calm. Justin and Christian were amazing at leading the ceremonies and from the whole team I felt so cared for and loved. Walter, )the nature guide) and Lady sat in ceremony with us without drinking to help with anything we needed and he was my guide to walk outside to the bathroom a few minutes after She (the medicine) hit super strong. I felt as though I were walking through dimensions and could barely find the floor to step on and Walter was with me, holding and guiding me ever so respectfully every step of the way. Lady helped me during our jungle walk when we got caught in the most beautiful rainstorm. She taught me how to walk in the jungle mud (heel first) and was so patient with my Spanish, teaching me the correct way to say things with so much warmth and all smiles.
Asteria cooked all our meals and despite being dieta food, she made it all tasty (cooked with love) and was all smiles as well. I have recommended Brennaโs Light to every friend I have, inviting them down as I plan to return and spend more time myself hopefully studying with Christian. Such a beautiful medicine, team and experience, I feel like I found a second home and am so grateful for all the ways this aligned. Thank you Justin, Christian and the whole team, including Brenna who has helped create this magical space from the other side.
