To become a butterfly, the caterpillar should give up its previous form. After that, it becomes something new, while it keeps all the good it has a caterpillar. Our retreat center is doing the same. ๐ฆ

January 4, 2020 at 6:10 pmI did a lot of research on different retreats I could visit to participate in Ayahuasca Ceremonies while visiting Peru. So many of the retreats just seemed like money making ventures that only cared about the economic benefits from providing Ayahuasca to tourists. Even my hotel in Iquitos tried to push me to some that would have cost upwards of $3000 for 5 days. I don’t recall how I discovered Brenna’s Light but I count it as a blessing that I did. I can not think of a better place to experience this powerful medicine in its natural environment. Justin, the owner, is an amazing individual that opened this center to help others heal as he did after the untimely death of his girlfriend, whom the center is named for. Justin is training to become a Shaman under the guide of a couple of Maestros that lead the ceremonies at Brenna’s Light. Christian led our ceremonies the week I was there. I was one of two guests present. It was very personalized and beautiful. Christian’s Icaros were amazing. He called upon the spirits to protect and heal the entire ceremony. His medicine is top notch, Very powerful. I saw and experienced things I did not believe to be possible. Simply amazing! All of the people that work at Brenna’s Light are like family. They are so nice and helpful. We went fishing on the Amazon one day, hiking in the jungle with Walter and Lady the guides that told us about all the plants and animals we came across. The entire experience was magical. I will for sure return and I am sending many others I know as well to experience what Brenna’s Light has to offer. Do yourself a favor and do not go anywhere else!!!

December 17, 2019 at 12:22 pmIt will be hard to describe the experience I had here but I will do my best. The entire time I was here I just felt like I was hanging out at someone’s house. It was extremely welcoming and comfortable. The ceremonies were intimate and again it felt like going through these experiences in a trusted friends living room. Christian and Justin led guided ceremonies that always revealed insight into some matter as well as having compassionate understanding into why we were there. Christian’s abilities as a shaman are awe inspiring and I was filled with a sense of wonder after each journey. I will never forget this place and was quite saddened to leave as the sense of peace, calm, and happiness at the lodge was unparalleled. I left with an incredible burden and weight removed from my mind and body and am ready to approach the next stage of my life with clarity and an open heart. The staff are extremely friendly and kind and though I spoke little Spanish, I still felt like I made new friends amongst all of them. I will never be able to express my gratitude fully, but know that I am forever indebted to my time here and the healing and revelations learned from grandmother Ayahuasca. Thank you so very much for making me feel genuine laughter again. Gracious tobacco!

December 12, 2019 at 3:08 amWhere do I start… I knew I wanted to come to Peru to take Ayahuasca, but was so overwhelmed with all the places that popped up on google… when I finally came across Brennaโs Light, I immediately loved that it was donation based so I would only donate what I took from the experience. After it caught my attention, I started reading and the reviews sold it for me. Itโs been just under two weeks since I was there, and I only have outstanding things to say about Brennaโs Light!
I felt a little anxious going into the retreat, but felt so at ease when I arrived because of the friendly workers and welcoming atmosphere! I would say that it was one of the most intense weeks of my life (scary, overwhelming, emotional, joyful, beautiful and fulfilling) and have the whole team to thank! I got exactly what I wanted out of the retreat, and having such caring workers, shaman, and owner (Justin) made the world of a difference.
If youโre questioning if you should take this experience, go to this centre.. do it! You wonโt regret it! โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

November 3, 2019 at 5:08 pmWe spent hours researching ayahuasca retreat centres before finally stumbling across Brenna’s Light. This is the only resort we found in Peru that did not seem overly commercialised but still legitimate. And our research paid off! We just spent an incredible week in the midst of the beautiful Amazon jungle. We had so much time to reflect and read (Justin keeps a collection of great books guests can borrow) and having inspiring conversations. Justin is so sweet and really cares about each and every one of his guests. He has himself gone through a lot and knows the ayahuasca medicine very well so has many helpful anecdotes and tips. The staff are all lovely. Walter, our personal jungle guide who knows more about birds and other animals than anyone else, the lovely ladies who cooked us delicious fresh vegan/vegetarian meals every day and of course Cristian who guided us through every ceremony and had good advice for everyone in the group shares, deserve special mention! Don’t expect anything fancy here – accommodation is basic (two bathrooms are shared between guests and staff and the occasional frog or spider) and wifi limited which is to be expected. It is really about the ceremonies and the healing here which is also reflected by the fact that this is entirely donation based. All in all, a life changing experience that we would highly recommend especially to everyone who has lived through trauma or has issues to deal with. Thanks again to Justin and the whole time for a great week!
