A truly unique experience! The place is an earthly paradise. I remember sitting on a bench at the top of the hill overlooking the Amazon and marvelling at the beauty of nature surrounding the lodge.
The entire team – Joshua, Jino, maestro, and cooking ladies – was incredibly generous and they genuinely poured heart and soul into making us feel safe and supported. The accommodation was comfortable and the food was simple yet delicious. Joshua – the retreat leader – has a great collection of wisdom books you can easily access at any time.
Ceremonies and outdoor activities were balanced out well. Hiking in the jungle and swimming in the Amazon River was the adventure of a lifetime. Jino – our facilitator – literally knew everything about the flora and fauna of the jungle, a passionate naturalist and a great storyteller too. The profound mystical experiences, the emotional roller-coaster, the beautiful icaros, and the singing of toucans are all things Iโll carry with me for the rest of my life.
This retreat is donation-based and Joshua cares deeply about helping people grow emotionally and spiritually. If you want a safe lodge to experience the gifts that mother Ayahuasca has to offer the Light of Shipibo is the place to go. Highly recommended!

October 9, 2022 at 9:01 pmI spent 1 week at the light of the shipibo and it was truly transformational.
The entire team was amazing but particularly Joshua, the Sharman, Gino and lady were absolutely incredible. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made me feel very safe and comfortable at the lodge.
What Joshua has done, taking on the retreat and giving it a new lease of life and enabling people to access this medicine is really incredible. I have battled with depression, ocd and anxiety my entire life and by taking this medicine I honestly feel a dark certain was lifted off of me. Had it not been for Joshua and the light of the shipibo this would not have been able to happen.
The Sharman who led the ceremonies was nothing short of phenomenal. The moment I saw him I could tell he was a kind and loving soul that just wanted to gift us with healing. And all though it happened in different ways for each of us included in the stay, it worked. So I will never be able to thank him enough for this.
Lady was so sweet, an amazing cook and gentle energy to be around. I will miss her.
Gino, wow… What an insanely intelligent and kind man. The knowledge he was able share was incredible, from the politics, all the wildlife we found and the local communities. Plus he spoke in perfect English!
Joshua, the man who made it all possible! The compassion and love you can feel just being near this man is truly touching. Heโs invested in every persons journey that comes to the lodge, and this feeling of genuine care from someone youโve never met just added to the whole experience.
I cannot recommend the light of the shipibo enough. The ayhuasca ceremonies and the healing are life changing, but even if you decided not to part take in the medicine just going to stay at the lodge will provide you with safe, calming and relaxing retreat that will improve your mental and physical well-being and you will definitely leave better and more refreshed than when you arrived.
There is a relaxed structure to the days but the team gave cool options such as boat trips and jungle walks which was so much fun and will embedded in my memory forever.

October 9, 2022 at 10:48 amI stayed for one week at the beginning of October 2022 at the Light of the Shipibo and had one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Straight from the start I was made to feel incredibly welcome and cared for. The whole team are so giving and loving it created such a beautiful and healing environment. As well as the Ayahuasca ceremonies we went on jungle treks and boat rides on the Amazon so you get to feel closer to the earth and truly appreciate the environment you are in. Our maestro was truly gifted and enabled me to have a deeply healing and beautiful Ayahuasca experience. I was able to release a lot negativity I was holding on to as well as see visions of my potential. My experience at the Light of Shipibo was everything I had wished it would be. The feeling of love and appreciation I was left with is something that will change the course of my life. I will forever be grateful to the Light of Shipibo. If you are planning an Ayahuasca retreat then I canโt recommend this place highly enough! I will definitely be heading back there at some point in the future.

August 27, 2022 at 11:42 pmI give magnificent thanks first to Mother Ayahuasca for her divine healing medicine and then to the Light of The Shipibo Healing Retreat Center. My experience was absolutely amazing. The team here is absolutely wonderful, love-filled, knowledgeable, and sincere. This place definitely exceeded my expectations in my experience. Not only did I have the opportunity for communion with Mother Ayahuasca but I was able to connect deeply with the land through experiences such as the jungle hike and boat ride through the Amazon. The Shaman/ Maestro was a wonderful facilitator of a healing space. I felt cared for by the team, they were readily available to meet my needs and talk me through any reservations I had. I highly recommend this place.
