We are an integrative plant medicine village where you can live amongst our families while being offered the opportunity to heal from chronic illness and find your most profound purpose. We offer comfortable, private accommodations so that our patients have the personal space to integrate their ayahuasca ceremonies. Marosa is not a luxury-based center and does not invest in luxury-type amenities. Instead, we invest in healers with extraordinary skills to give you the best possible outcome, and keep our max ceremony occupancy to 14, inclucing apprentices and facilitators. If you are looking for an experience catered to a western lifestyle, you may want to choose another retreat center. However, if you want to experience the full depth of the Shipibo tradition and the possibilities of plant dieting, this is the place for you. Our retreats start every Sunday and are customizable for your needs on a week-to-week basis. We offer stays from 7 days to 90 days. Patients that stay at least 11 days will be allowed to participate in Master Plant Diets.
Marosa Healing Center is owned by Maestra Angela Sanchez Rios, who has over twenty years of experience working with Ayahuasca and is one of the most respected shamans in Iquitos. She treats her patients as if they were her children. Her care is not just during ayahuasca ceremonies. She tends to your unique needs by providing many different types of medicine, including plant vapor baths and plant tonics, and prepares all of the master diets for those who are dieting. Her smiles and laughter are infectious.

October 28, 2024 at 8:59 amAs a first timer, I had a positive experience at La Marosa.
I was there for 2 weeks and my staying was holistically full of insights that were coming from the medicine, my conversations with other passengers, the walks in the jungle, being isolated and having lots of time to think about everything or not think at all… and even when I didn’t find everything I was looking for, this was a very satisfying experience.
(advice: avoid having too many or any expectations if you can).
Tony and Jordan, thank you very much for the arrangements and the small talks. Maestra Angela and maestro Elias thank you for sharing your wisdom, to El Tío thank you for playing the the drum and the maracas out of rhythm . Raquel, Manuel and the rest of the crew, thank you all for everything, you guys are awesome.
I wish you lots of success.

October 27, 2024 at 10:24 pmI recently went to Marosa for the 11 day retreat. This was my first time working with ayahuasca and I was supposed to take it 6 times, but after my second time I really felt like the ayahuasca was telling me not to return, so I listened. Even tho I didn’t take the ayahuasca again, I loved the experience at Marosa enough to stay the rest of the 11 days like I originally planned! For the remainder of the ceremonies I just meditated and listened to the Icaros, which I still found incredibly spiritual and beneficial for me. During my experiences I felt very well taken care of, and super safe. If you don’t speak Spanish I would definitely recommend making sure that an English speaking facilitator is there, Jordan was very helpful to me, and also helped me through a lot of questions and thoughts following a very powerful ayahuasca experience. Overall I would definitely recommend Marosa to any spiritual seeker!

October 24, 2024 at 7:59 pmMy bf and I went to Marosa for a 10day plant dieta program and couldn’t be happier that we made the decision to go! The centre is build on prestige white sand that used to ran a river, many of us enjoyed walking on it barefoot. Maestra Angela and Maetro Elias, along with other staff/family members and an amazing English speaking facilitator Jordan, took great care of us. We went there for both physical healing and spiritual growth, and walked away filled with peace and gratitude. This place is magical, and times we’ve soent in social isolation and solitude contributed to our blissful experience. The accommodations are rustic and humble but comfortable. The bathrooms and showers are clean. I grew to really love the cold showers there to cool off from the jungle heat. We were pleasantly surprised how fewer bugs they had there compared to another centre we’ve been to. There were 8 puppies (2-4months old) while we were there along with some other ducks and chickens roaming around, and the wild birds sounded incredible. I hope more people find this place and experience the authentic healing it offers.

October 22, 2024 at 7:39 pmLast month, I spent 9 days at Marosa with my girlfriend. It was an absolutely phenomenal experience. We went looking for both physical and spiritual healing, and we found both. Maestra Angela, Jordan (facilitator), and everyone else took genuine care of us.
The amenities / facilities were simple, unassuming, and comfortable. The climate was relatively mild (for the Amazon), with bearable heat and not too many bugs. The environment was peaceful – a great place to relax and reflect.

May 23, 2024 at 10:36 amMy experience at Mayosa Resort with Ayahuasca was nothing short of profound. Nestled in the embrace of nature, the setting itself seemed to enhance the journey inward. The shamans, with their expertise and guidance, facilitated a transformative experience, offering insights into myself and my life that I never knew existed. The food provided was not only nourishing but also contributed to the overall sense of well-being during the retreat. A special mention goes to Tony, whose constant support and accessibility ensured that every step of the journey was smooth and enriching. In summary, my time at Mayosa Resort was truly the best experience, one that I will carry with me for a lifetime.
