To become a butterfly, the caterpillar should give up its previous form. After that, it becomes something new, while it keeps all the good it has a caterpillar. Our retreat center is doing the same. ๐Ÿฆ‹

We are the former “Light of the Shipibo” Retreat. ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ฆ, ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐œ๐ž, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ is the same. ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐จ๐ง๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ญ changed ๐ขs ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐š๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ซ๐š๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ.

Despite the somewhat disappointing journey with the medicine, my time at Lighthouse was absolutely fantastic and is now the only place I will go to sit down with the medicine . The food, the staff, the grounds, the accommodations I cannot gush enough about how terrific they all were. Joy, Lady, Christin, Jino, and the Maestro all made you feel welcome and safe throughout the entire process. I went in with the impression Aya was supposed to give you all of this unconditional love but I received a ton from the staff and fellow retreaters.

This was the second ayahuasca retreat I attended and Lighthouse blew the other one by a long shot. I’m almost in disbelief I almost made the decision to not attend Lighthouse due to how much of a bad time I had at the first retreat.. Please listen to me if you are a first time retreater, do not go anywhere else and sit with nobody else other than those at Lighthouse. They are truly wonderful, and experienced guides that will shepherd you through whatever storm you will encounter.

P.S. To Lighthouse thank you so much for delivering what the other retreat could not. You showed me so much light when darkness was clouding my judgement on Shipibo culture and traditions. Please forgive me for my ignorance and when I return it will be under very different circumstances and headspace.

P.P.S Please do not expand the group sizes beyond 8. That was a perfect number.

I stayed for two weeks at the Lighthouse, for me this was the perfect amount of time. The second week i was able to go even deeper with the medicine. The rooms are big and clean but nothing fancy (you’re in the jungle after all). The team consists of all wonderful people who where really there for me if i wanted to talk or when i had a hard time during ceremony. I loved the small group size. The food was nutritious and tastes good (for food without salt). Maestro Antenor has beautiful icaros and when he start to play his guitar it gets even better. His medicine is powerful. The day after each ceremony you will have a talk with the maestro.
I wanna thank Jino for all the wise words, Joy for our conversations, Christian for his funny jokes and Lady for being there for me when i most needed it. And of course maestro Antenor for his beautiful ceremonies and songs.

“A spiritual hospital.” That’s how Christian, one of the facilitators, described Lighthouse. After spending a week there, I think that’s a a great description. I want to thank Ivan, Christian, Lady, Joy, Jino, Maestro and all the support staff whose names I’m sorry to have forgotten. As someone not experienced in any of this at all, it was hard to know where to start. I wanted to find a place that felt more authentic with a small group size, and got that and more (Lighthouse is maximum 8). The experience started with a call with Ivan, who answered all my questions. He manages logistics and the team picks you up in Iquitos. The setting and facilities are very comfortable but not fancy, nestled an hour up river in the Amazon. You are surrounded by the sights and sounds of jungle nature, so you really feel like you are getting more of a traditional experience. The food is fresh and nutritious, and you get introduced to the aya vine and plants just steps away from the center. ‘Mama Aya’ is medicine that is unlike anything I’ve experienced and is hard to explain, but if you’re open to it, you’ll get the answers you need. A huge part of making that happen is the care and attention of the facilitators, plus the Maestro with his amazing Icaros and years of working with aya. The day after each ceremony we all got a chance to speak with the Maestro about our ceremony through a translator, which helped tremendously in beginning to process everything. The small group size and setting made all of us participants feel very close by the end of the week, which is one of the best parts of the experience there.

I want to thank Lighthouse Retreat center team for this wonderful experience. It exceeded my expectations and it’s helping me a lot in ways that i can’t describe. During the 3 sessions maestro Jairo leaded the ceremonies with great expierince and talent and his Ayahuasca brew was visionari and powerful. I wish you lots of love and health on your journey team. Thank you Joshua.

This 1 week retreat at the Light House was nothing short of amazing. It was all that I had been looking for and wish for as an Ayahuasca retreat centre. I am so lucky that I picked the Light House. Thank you Christian, Lady, Joy, Jino, Maestro and all other Light House team members for making us feeling safe, loved, and supported. You guys were like the guardian angels, supporting us through out this entire journey. And the place was beautiful, food was great, my room was amazing, most importantly the people, all you guys were so loving and caring, thank you! This place will be forever stay in my heart as well as my Aya journeys. I told myself to follow my intuition when it comes to choosing the Aya retreat, and I did, I am glad I did! Thank you Light House Teamโค๏ธ If you happen to come across my review, is not only mama Aya has been calling you, Light House is calling you too, and you will never regret to choose this place! โค๏ธ
