We have been hosting ayahuasca retreats since 1996. Our center is based in the midst of the beautiful Atlantic Rainforest along the coast of Bahia in Brazil. We facilitate a safe and comfortable space for you to achieve harmony in your everyday life by aligning your mind, body, and heart with your true self.

Our 9 day and 11 day ayahuasca retreats are designed to give you a balanced experience. We have ayahuasca ceremonies every other night and in between there are activities to integrate your experiences and insights. There is also ample free time to reflect, to enjoy the beauty of the jungle, to visit the gorgeous beaches, and just to relax, let go, and enjoy the pure bliss of the moment.
Calendar and prices on our website
We have extensive experience integrating ayahuasca, psychology, shamanism, self development, modified states of consciousness, and various other modalities. We are present at all times and are dedicated in supporting you with loving care, attention, safety, and respect. The activities include workshops focused on spiritual development. The techniques covered in the workshops can be practiced even after the retreat to continue the journey of personal growth. Some of the topics include inner child integration, life progression, discovering the source of your blockages and the resources to overcome them. Another very important part of the retreat are the Yoga sessions in the morning which greatly enrich the ayahuasca experiences at night.
Spirit Vine & TheVine Center previously known as Ayahuasca-Healing have been created by Silvia Polivoy. She received her license in clinical psychology and had a private practice in Buenos Aires, Argentina for several years until she began to feel the need to make a transition from studying and healing the mind to exploring the worlds of Spirit. This took her away from the busy city streets to the more tranquil life in the jungle, moving to Brazil where in 2004 she co-founded the TheVine Center, a trans-denominational and inter-faith spiritual center located in the state of Bahia.
The nature of our nonprofit center is philosophical, religious, mystical, spiritual, educational, and cultural. All the retreats’ income’ serves to maintain the center grounds, create employment for the local community, and help preserve the jungle, having replanted thousands of native trees over the years to give but one example.
The retreats take place inside of 39 acres of lush preserved area. It is about 7 miles from Itacaré on the coast of Bahia. Our location is only minutes away from beautiful coastal beaches, which back onto the Mata Atlántica, the second largest rainforest in Brazil.

The experience of sacred tea ceremonies can be challenging for some, deeply religious for others, but profound all around. Please note that we have several programs to offer and the plant ceremonies are always optional and not required to partake in during any of our retreats. The plant ceremonies begin in the evening and go through the night. The group dynamic is very important and there will be facilitators to look after participants throughout. There will be plenty of time for group discussions and also time alone to reflect on the experiences elicited by the spirit vine tea for those that wish to partake in the plant ceremonies.

At the retreat center we grow our own ayahuasca vine and chacruna plants organically! We also have an organic garden to source vegetables for the food prepared during the retreat. We have pure spring water for drinking and also coconut water, juices, and a variety of teas.

During all our programs we follow a strict (though delicious) diet. The meals are completely vegan, gluten-free, and nutritionally balanced, prepared by our in-house chef who has specialized in vegan cuisine and has a post-graduation in functional nutrition. They include plenty of fresh vegetables cooked with delicious herbs and spices, luscious fresh tropical fruits, salads, and grains.
A note about sexual abstinence: this varies from culture to culture; some recommending as long as 30-40 days while others as little as one day or none at all like here in Brazil. For energetic purposes we recommend sexual abstinence during the retreat as well as 3 days before it begins and 3 days after the retreat concludes. As well, a drug free and no salt diet with no red meat, pork or heavy alcohol use for the same amount of time is optimal.
We fully expect you have questions about the retreats, programs and the facilities we offer. Please feel free to explore our website or watch our videos and write to us to come to one of our retreats.

March 29, 2021 at 2:04 pmSpirit Vine exceeded my expectations, and I had high ones to begin with!!
Silvia and Ti0 were always available to assist in any questions, concerns or personal issues that needed to be discussed further. I felt very safe and the structure of the retreat flowed really well. The ceremonies were amazingly conducted by Silvia and Ti0, the music selection was incredible.
I chose this retreat in particular due to its emphasis on integration and I found that the workshops and group sharing created an amazing environment in which you could process the experiences you had on Ayahuasca whilst also looking at how you can use and intergrate these experiences and lessons going forward.
So happy and grateful that I chose this retreat, after a lot of research into many different retreats and I highly recommend Spirit Vine to anyone who wants to work with Ayahuasca on a deep level in a safe and caring environment.

March 28, 2021 at 6:55 pmThe Best psychedelic retreat ever! Safe environment, super healthy food, friendly staff, professional guidance, comfortable lodging….so much more!! Silvia has been guiding ceremonies for almost 20 years, I really appreciate her approach combining psychology and spirituality. Before each ceremony, she organizes workshops (about Inner Child, Shadow work….) for us to open up and prepare ourselves to set the most needed intension for the ceremony.
During the ceremonies, Silvia and Tio hold the space for us and make sure we all have a safe trip.
After each ceremony, we have art sessions to express how we feel, followed by inspiring sharing session.
Another highlight of the retreat is the FOOD, Thiago and his team are artists, each meal is prepared with Love and we all enjoyed the food without sugar and salt!! I develop strong connections with all the participants and we become a spiritual family now thanks to Spirit Vine Retreat. Keep the Good Work, and I highly recommend anyone who wants to find answers about their spirituality or just gain more consciousness and insight about reality, Come and Join Spirit Vine Ayahuasca Retreat Center!!!! Much Love and Respect to your professional work! We will meet again 🙂

March 5, 2021 at 1:26 pmMy experience at Spirit Vine was one I can’t speak highly enough about. The setting was so pristine and peaceful with impeccable upkeep and attention to every detail. I researched countless retreats and after coming to Spirit Vine I’m so glad I did! It’s hard for me to imagine going anywhere else. Silvia and Tio are some of the most gentle, kind and compassionate people I have met with the purest of intentions. They both seem to truly care for each individual in such a genuine way that is hard to explain even after the retreat has ended. I always felt so safe and comfortable with them in my presence, which is essential during such a vulnerable process. I have a science background and am generally a skeptic/questioner type of person. If you’re like me, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of coming with an open mind. The power and insight of this medicine is so profound and unexplainable. While this medicine and process is some serious work and takes great courage at times, the results are limitless. Unlike other retreats, the medicine dose at Spirit Vine is custom tailored to each individual’s needs to yield the most healing experience in the safest way possible. It was so refreshing to be a part of the open culture and environment at Spirit Vine which felt accepting and non judgemental, allowing people to just be themself. It was so nice meeting and becoming close friends with people from all over the world with such diverse backgrounds. The entire group and staff all felt like family by the end of the retreat. The food was also out of this world! It amazed me everyday the variety of food which never got old to me. Another thing that really set Spirit Vine apart from other retreats for me was the workshops that Tio and Silvia provided. These workshops were incredibly helpful and provided tools for managing different obstacles that arise not only during the ayahuasca process, but life in general. Silvia’s background and experience with psychotherapy was really helpful as well. The unbiased and honest insight her and Tio provided was quite special. They both have such a unique gift with what they do, and I’m so grateful they have dedicated their lives to sharing it with others!

February 22, 2021 at 10:42 amHard to describe my experience at Spirit Vine!
The place is incredible. Beautiful with a huge area and a lush forest. In addition, the whole space has good energy, a peace that allows us to spend hours contemplating nature, meditating and breathing fresh air. The food is amazing. This scenario, in addition to the care that Silvia and Tio have with us, could not be better to have my first experience with Ayahuasca. It was all remarkable. It really exceeded all my expectations.

February 14, 2021 at 11:10 pmThis was by far the most healing experiences I have ever participated in and I will come back here whenever I can. Literally everything about this place is so carefully thought out and well put together that you feel so safe and taken care of from the moment you get there. Silvia, Tio, Thiago , the whole staff were incredible. Im so grateful that I happened to choose this retreat center over the many I found online. Honestly it was Trip Advisor and the reviews that I put my faith in and I’m so happy I did 🙂 If I can return yearly I will!
