We have been hosting ayahuasca retreats since 1996. Our center is based in the midst of the beautiful Atlantic Rainforest along the coast of Bahia in Brazil. We facilitate a safe and comfortable space for you to achieve harmony in your everyday life by aligning your mind, body, and heart with your true self.

Our 9 day and 11 day ayahuasca retreats are designed to give you a balanced experience. We have ayahuasca ceremonies every other night and in between there are activities to integrate your experiences and insights. There is also ample free time to reflect, to enjoy the beauty of the jungle, to visit the gorgeous beaches, and just to relax, let go, and enjoy the pure bliss of the moment.
Calendar and prices on our website
We have extensive experience integrating ayahuasca, psychology, shamanism, self development, modified states of consciousness, and various other modalities. We are present at all times and are dedicated in supporting you with loving care, attention, safety, and respect. The activities include workshops focused on spiritual development. The techniques covered in the workshops can be practiced even after the retreat to continue the journey of personal growth. Some of the topics include inner child integration, life progression, discovering the source of your blockages and the resources to overcome them. Another very important part of the retreat are the Yoga sessions in the morning which greatly enrich the ayahuasca experiences at night.
Spirit Vine & TheVine Center previously known as Ayahuasca-Healing have been created by Silvia Polivoy. She received her license in clinical psychology and had a private practice in Buenos Aires, Argentina for several years until she began to feel the need to make a transition from studying and healing the mind to exploring the worlds of Spirit. This took her away from the busy city streets to the more tranquil life in the jungle, moving to Brazil where in 2004 she co-founded the TheVine Center, a trans-denominational and inter-faith spiritual center located in the state of Bahia.
The nature of our nonprofit center is philosophical, religious, mystical, spiritual, educational, and cultural. All the retreats’ income’ serves to maintain the center grounds, create employment for the local community, and help preserve the jungle, having replanted thousands of native trees over the years to give but one example.
The retreats take place inside of 39 acres of lush preserved area. It is about 7 miles from Itacaré on the coast of Bahia. Our location is only minutes away from beautiful coastal beaches, which back onto the Mata Atlántica, the second largest rainforest in Brazil.

The experience of sacred tea ceremonies can be challenging for some, deeply religious for others, but profound all around. Please note that we have several programs to offer and the plant ceremonies are always optional and not required to partake in during any of our retreats. The plant ceremonies begin in the evening and go through the night. The group dynamic is very important and there will be facilitators to look after participants throughout. There will be plenty of time for group discussions and also time alone to reflect on the experiences elicited by the spirit vine tea for those that wish to partake in the plant ceremonies.

At the retreat center we grow our own ayahuasca vine and chacruna plants organically! We also have an organic garden to source vegetables for the food prepared during the retreat. We have pure spring water for drinking and also coconut water, juices, and a variety of teas.

During all our programs we follow a strict (though delicious) diet. The meals are completely vegan, gluten-free, and nutritionally balanced, prepared by our in-house chef who has specialized in vegan cuisine and has a post-graduation in functional nutrition. They include plenty of fresh vegetables cooked with delicious herbs and spices, luscious fresh tropical fruits, salads, and grains.
A note about sexual abstinence: this varies from culture to culture; some recommending as long as 30-40 days while others as little as one day or none at all like here in Brazil. For energetic purposes we recommend sexual abstinence during the retreat as well as 3 days before it begins and 3 days after the retreat concludes. As well, a drug free and no salt diet with no red meat, pork or heavy alcohol use for the same amount of time is optimal.
We fully expect you have questions about the retreats, programs and the facilities we offer. Please feel free to explore our website or watch our videos and write to us to come to one of our retreats.

December 6, 2021 at 5:08 pmSo this is my 3rd time back to Spirit Vine this year. I could probably write a book about my experiences here. So much new knowledge acquired, so much enlightenment, such beautiful magical journeys on ayahuasca here. To say that this has changed my life would be a huge understatement. I’ve been reborn. And rebirth is so beautiful. Almost every ceremony becomes a kind of rebirth. I’ve faced so many traumas from childhood and have overcome them. I’ve grown as a person in ways I could never have imagined. It’s a journey and a process and I’m still learning and growing. I could ramble on for hours and never say enough great things about Spirit Vine. The only difficult thing for me about coming here is that I have to leave. If you’re thinking about doing ayahuasca, (and obviously you are or you wouldn’t be reading this ) then search no more. Spirit Vine is THE place. Ti0 and Silvia have created a beautiful gift for the universe here, a Garden of Eden for spiritual growth and discovery.

December 6, 2021 at 4:58 pmEverything about Spirit Vine excellent and great value for money. Long story short, you de-clutter your mind, clear out some of the excess unwanted baggage, learn ways to carry on with the process once you leave, and it’s also a great holiday anyway! There are all likeminded people from all over the world who you share the retreat with, whom you can integrate your experience with and thus build close bonds.
All the logistics of travelling to and from the retreat are meticulously planned, making it as stress free as possible.
The vegan food is great, but it’s a shame you can’t take the chefs home with you!
All in all, I would recommend to anyone who feels the calling, you can’t go wrong.
As far as Covid goes, everyone attending needs to show a negative test before arriving at the retreat, which can easily be done at the local town Itacare’.

August 8, 2021 at 3:31 pmIf you are here reading this review, go to Spirit Vine. I wanted to wait a little while to integrate my experience before writing this review. I could not wait any longer. The tools, techniques, and advice given at Spirit Vine are far above anything you will ever receive anywhere else. I have experienced OCD since I was little and felt stuck in every aspect of the word. I did not know what were my own thoughts and feelings and what were not. I can confidently say that is not the case anymore. Here at Spirit Vine YOU are the one that has to put in the work and believe you will get better. I did not fully believe until I came here. It empowers you to deal with your own issues anytime and in anyway they pop up in your life. I faced fear, sat with uncertainty, and encountered moments of my past and glimpses of my future. I will never forget this experience and I cannot wait to go back for more healing. You are in the safest hands with Silvia and Ti 0. I understood the full extent of their love and care after the first ceremony. They truly do know what is best for you regarding dose and areas to focus on within ceremony. The group aspect positively adds to the experience and I have made friends that I will keep for life. We are all in this together. The energy on site is captivating. Please Go. And eat some of the delicious food from Thiago while you’re at it 🙂

August 3, 2021 at 3:35 pmI let a couple weeks pass after the retreat to write my review. Ready?? Let’s go!
Why Spirit Vine.
I didn’t find this center online. I have a friend who’s been to this center twice before and she spoke highly about it. When I found out that Silvia who created this sacred healing environment is a psychologist right away I knew that Spirit Vine is a place for me.
I have had many ayahuasca ceremonies in the past 6 years with various tribes in different countries where I was just given the medicine without a lot of explanations and integration techniques.
The approach Silvia uses in her center is different and it was more productive for me.
There were workshops at the center that gave me tools to work with during the ceremonies. So Before each ceremony I was prepared.
I loved the shadow workshop very much which helped me to identify one of the faces of my dark side and work through it.
Ti0 did a great workshop on energy where he gave us tools on how to elevate our consciousness and be a better version of ourselves. We even watched movies there 🙂
The center is located not too far from a beautiful coastal town of Itacaré in the Atlantic forest. The land is stunning. There is a pond that I enjoyed every day, many beautiful plants, birds, monkeys. It’s a true paradise.
There’s an actual chef Thiago (obrigada from the bottom of my heart) who creates art with food. We literally ate art every single day there.
The accommodations were lovely and sparkly clean. I stayed in dorms with two more guests and it was perfect.
There was yoga and massages available which helped me to connect better with my body.
We took a few trips to the stunning beaches in the area and a waterfall.
Everyone who works at the center is super friendly and attentive.
We were a group of 15 and it was perfect. Not too many people, not too little. We all have become one big family by the end of the retreat.
I came out of this experience with a bunch of friends and a lot of knowledge. I have struggled all my life with the lack of self-love. At the retreat I was finally able to understand how to love and accept myself unconditionally. I felt very supported and loved by everyone there which definitely enhanced my experience and helped me to heal. Now I’m going through an integration process using all the tools I received during my retreat.
What I want to say is even if you don’t want to drink the medicine you can still come and enjoy the healing energy in the retreat. It’s much more than ayahuasca.
I’ll definitely be back to do more work.
Thank you Silvia and Ti0 and everyone who served us and helped us on our healing journey in Spirit Vine. I feel abundance of gratitude
So blessed to have met you.
Warm hugs, until next time.
Com amor, Svetlana
