We are an integrative plant medicine village where you can live amongst our families while being offered the opportunity to heal from chronic illness and find your most profound purpose. We offer comfortable, private accommodations so that our patients have the personal space to integrate their ayahuasca ceremonies. Marosa is not a luxury-based center and does not invest in luxury-type amenities. Instead, we invest in healers with extraordinary skills to give you the best possible outcome, and keep our max ceremony occupancy to 14, inclucing apprentices and facilitators. If you are looking for an experience catered to a western lifestyle, you may want to choose another retreat center. However, if you want to experience the full depth of the Shipibo tradition and the possibilities of plant dieting, this is the place for you. Our retreats start every Sunday and are customizable for your needs on a week-to-week basis. We offer stays from 7 days to 90 days. Patients that stay at least 11 days will be allowed to participate in Master Plant Diets.
Marosa Healing Center is owned by Maestra Angela Sanchez Rios, who has over twenty years of experience working with Ayahuasca and is one of the most respected shamans in Iquitos. She treats her patients as if they were her children. Her care is not just during ayahuasca ceremonies. She tends to your unique needs by providing many different types of medicine, including plant vapor baths and plant tonics, and prepares all of the master diets for those who are dieting. Her smiles and laughter are infectious.

January 19, 2024 at 5:58 amMarosa is an extraordinary place if you are looking for an authentic and deep experience, with powerful shipibo healers, various plant medicines which are tailored for your needs by Maestra Angela. One of the most peaceful, safe, kind and supportive environments I have ever been, living with the shaman families isolated in the heart of the mother earth.
You are served the most natural food and water, get to shower with rich river water, hear the incredible sounds of birds and other animals, surrounded by living and healing plants and just living with and being a part of the vast ecosystem of the jungle. A proper and profound retreat!
Ceremonies are powerful and deeply transformative together with the plant dietas. My perception of who I am and the world around has completely changed, I have found more peace, trust, confidence and love in myself. It was a seed planted which is still growing and blossoming in my psyche and body.
If you feel a calling, I recommend whole heartedly to visit Marosa for an incredible Ayahuasca retreat.

January 17, 2024 at 8:20 pmI was at Marosa two times already. It has a great approach to herbs as medicine. It has four Ayahuasca ceremonies a week, and if you stay at least 11 days you are dieting plants that don’t seem to be psychoactive but do provide extra healing and focus on specific issues you have the opportunity to discuss with shamans at the start of the retreat. The center may not look very modern, but it’s not a problem, I took Aya there for the first time and it was great. I wasn’t in Peru before. It has all you need. Atmosphere at ceremonies is great, number of people varies (2-10), but Maestros always pay attention to you and often sings to everybody individually at ceremonies. You can take extra rapé or sananga with you to retreat, you can share with others too. Maestra Angela really is an expert in what she does.
Maestros don’t speak English, but there’s often somebody who translates. Also, bring a plug adapter for charging your phone.

January 10, 2024 at 6:24 pmI have spent two weeks at Marosa and it has been a beautiful, but challenging journey through mind and the world of healers and shamans. The authentic and rural setting doesn‘t allow a lot of outside stimulus to get in, which makes it a perfect place to go deep!

It was my first experience with ayahuasca and I was looking for an authentic and simple place with good shamans. I didn’ want a fancy “holiday resort” with group activities and other distractions. I found here a perfect place for healing. I am very grateful for what Marosa did for me. I arrived there extremely weak, depressed and anxious. For the first 2 days I could not even talk to people without crying. Maestra Angela and Maestro Eber took care of me with love and my anxiety went down, plus my energy and joy went up! I have a cancer and I am aware that an 11-days stay is not long enough for a total recovery, but the healing process starts from the Spirit and the body will follow! I will come back and I definitely recommend Marosa if you’re looking for a peaceful. place without mosquitos. I was the only participant for the first week and this was a real priviledge! A big thank you to all the staff, including Tony, Raquel (best cook ever), Manuel, Joao and the cutest one, Claudio (a 7-years-old boy) who cheered me up with his smile!

November 14, 2023 at 3:25 pmOverall experience was good. I really like the food a lot. The people who work and leave there were extremely friendly and welcoming. I felt I was well looked after. Some little things that were listed were missing, but at the end it didn’t matter. The bungalows were good and the bed is comfortable. We had a bit of WiFi and enough electricity. The retreat itself is very nice and I liked the property. If you go there at the time when none of English speaking facilitators are present some stuff will get lost in translation. I went there in off season and was the only one participating in the ceremonies at the start. That another guy came. So, having the place and a ceremony to your own is pretty good. The result of my stay and the ceremonies has exceeded my expectations.
They also offer jungle tours there it is absolutely must.
