To become a butterfly, the caterpillar should give up its previous form. After that, it becomes something new, while it keeps all the good it has a caterpillar. Our retreat center is doing the same. ๐Ÿฆ‹

We are the former “Light of the Shipibo” Retreat. ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ฆ, ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐œ๐ž, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ is the same. ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐จ๐ง๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ญ changed ๐ขs ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐š๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ซ๐š๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ.

Really canโ€™t recommend this retreat strongly enough. When I wrote this review I looked through some of the other reviews and itโ€™s no surprise people are so pleased with their experiences. This is an amazing retreat center. Everything is thought through and taken care of. The location is awesome right by the Amazon river in the djungle. The facilities are great. Every participant has their own spacious room with a private bathroom. They have good protecting mosquito nets. Even the wifi is really good. But more importantly, and why I think everyone who visits are so happy with their experience, is that every person working at the retreat do an amazing and genuine job.

The value for money is also quite staggering. This is not in any way a rip-off or a way to make money. The people working here truly do something they believe in and it permeates through everything at the whole retreat. I was a bit worried beforehand of going to a retreat which was exploitative of the Amazon, of the locals or of the Ayahuasca tradition and it was great to see that these retreats are anything other than exploitative. Participating in this retreat is to support a beautiful cause and to support people doing lots of good in this world.

A big thank you to the facilitators Christian and Lady, Maestro, Jino, Ivan and all the rest of the crew. The whole team is committed to their work and they do it all with love. Also a big thank you to the rest of the group in the retreat. It was amazing to share this experience with you guys. I walk away from this week with more love in my heart and more care for other people as well as the world as a whole. It may sound cheesy, but itโ€™s true.

PS. They recently changed the name and the website. If I didnโ€™t know anything about the retreat the new website probably wouldnโ€™t have been very appealing to me. Perhaps a bit too playful/not serious for my taste, which would have made me a bit worried. If thatโ€™s the case for you then rest assured that there is nothing to worry about. ๐Ÿ™‚

My experience at Lighthouse was amazing. Before arriving at the retreat I had just completed a 4 day jungle tour along the Amazon, where a had camped and stayed one night in a local village. I was expecting the retreat to be of a similar standard to the local village I stayed in, but was completely blown away by the quality of the retreat when I arrived. Very clean and comfortable private rooms, each with their own private bathroom, electric fan, power outlets and fully sealed mosquito mesh. It really felt like a luxury resort compared to the conditions I experienced on the jungle tour. You even have internet access which I was not expecting though I do recommend you try to avoid for a more immersive experience and a digital detox. However, if you need to contact your family and friends back home you have the ability to do so.

Make no mistake, the facilities are basic but more than enough for you to feel comfortable for your stay and to escape the busy/frantic city living lifestyle. You will be immersed in a pristine tropical environment with a beautiful vista of the Amazon river for all your meals.

The staff here are absolutely amazing. They bend over backwards to accommodate your every need and always have a smile on their face. They really do make you feel like your part of their family. Constantly giving your support on your inner personal journey of self discovery and showering you with their love.

The two shamans who provide the Ayahuasca Ceremonies for our group, Maestro Aquiles and Maestra Lilia were fantastic. The dedication and commitment they provide to each of our individual requirements and personal needs went above and beyond their role as spiritual advisors. We all really felt like we where being look after by a new father and mother, who only had our best interests at heart.

If you are truly seeking a Ayahuasca Retreat were the workers and shamans really do care about your interests and needs, I highly recommend you put Lighthouse on the top of your short list of retreats. You won’t be disappointed.

What can I say?! There were wonderful people in the center, especially Gino, Christian and Diana, who assisted the shaman, but also the cooking crew and the gardeners. They all have a very open heart and really support the guests to be cured and have good experiences…The center was nice and you have a room with bath for your own, simple, but with all necessary equipment.
The shaman was very good and had a lot of humor. I felt safe. The shaman was looking for each of us in a very individual way. I had clear visions and got answers to my questions with ayahuasca. I have never felt so calm and connected with myself in my life and it was an extraordinary experience. Thanks to all of you!!
I heard, that this center is the only one which gives jobs to the local people.
During the day you can wear light clothes from cotton, only for the jungle tours, which are great, you need longsleeve clothes and long pants. The mosqiuitos were not a big problem.

This was my second time going to the Lighthouse, and once again, it was an amazing experience. I really love and appreciate everyone there. The staff genuinely cares about you and wants to share the medicine and their knowledge. When you arrive, they welcome you home and into their lives. I have become good friends with them and I am inspired by their kindness and knowledge.
When I first came to the Lighthouse, I was in a very dark place and struggling deeply with my past military experience. I served six years in the military and most of that time was spent bouncing around between Iraq and Afghanistan. Needless to say, that time damaged my heart and soul. I was in a great deal of pain from the things I had seen and experienced, and still carried that with me thirteen years after leaving the military. I was angry and sick because of how poorly we treat each other and ourselves. I was utterly lost and lacked hope.
The Lighthouse and Ayahuasca have completely changed my life. They have helped me find understanding and peace with my past and have helped give me my life back. I have been able to find direction again and hope for the future. I found a new sense of respect for myself and for all life… I donโ€™t really have the ability to articulate how profoundly helpful my time there has beenโ€ฆ They have saved my life.
I went back to the Lighthouse for a second time because I love the jungle and my friends there. And because I have more to learn from Ayahuasca. She has helped open my heart and mind. She created space inside me so I could breathe again and progress through the healing process. It is sometimes a challenging journey and very difficult. It requires bravery and hard work, but the hope, joy, and freedom that lies on the other side is worth the initial trepidation and discomfort.
I have learned the reason I felt so much pain, anger, and fear was because I do love this planet and our people. Seeing so much violence and all the pain and suffering inflicted upon one another hurt me. It hurts my soul, and when the pain becomes so intense, it overwhelms us, and we lose our sight. I think Ayahuasca has the power to help heal our people. She can help us reconnect to the Earth and our hearts and souls. Through this process of healing our people, is how we change the world.
If you are thinking about trying Ayahuasca, I know the Lighthouse will take care of you and guide you. The people here truly want to help others and make the world a better place. If you are in pain and suffering, it is because there is love inside you that needs to be shared. The Lighthouse can help you find the way.

My time at the Light House was a wonderful, life changing experience. I made close friends/families, and I felt so much love for others and myself after… I can truly say it’s not just the Ayuhuasca ceremonies and the Maestro’s work but the whole entire team that made it so great.

The whole process from booking to getting to the center, food, participating the ceremonies, and leaving the center and getting back to the airport, was so organized, easy, and smooth, and I truly in-joyed every single second of it.

The location is perfect, the way the center was built into the land, made me felt connected to mother Earth and the plants, it’s hard to put these feelings into words. The “open-air” maloca, allows us to be with the jungle, listening to the thunderstorms, rain, birds, bugs, and animals, while we were in the ceremonies, this stood out to me the most, as I was able to flow with nature, guided by the sound of it and Maestro to navigate through my Ayuhuasca journey.

The whole entire team gave me so much love, not just our wonderful facilitators, Lady and Christian, but also Yoko and her assistant, Lenin, Antonio, the pups and kitties, and the Maestro and Kambo Master! They welcomed us with hugs and smiles, they guided and listened to us when we shared our darkness, they are kind and loving… and giving!

And the small group I was a part of, the 4 of us connected instantly, and the small group made me feel comfortable to share my experiences as days goes on. I didn’t just got to know myself more, and heal some part of me, I also made lifelong friendships and family!

p.s. this was the best 30th birthday ever! They even surprised me with a fruit cake!
