I can’t recommend Blue Morpho enough! Absolute life changer! The staff are extremely kind and always prepared for every situation with a non-judgemental attitude. I felt very safe and always taken care of and watched after. They are always willing to sit with you and answer any question that you throw at them with helpful, insightful answers. The retreat center is also a perfect place to hold these ceremonies and well equipped with anything and everything you might need. The sounds of the jungle surrounding you were complimentary to the experience had. Everything was clean and well taken care of everyday by the staff on duty. All the activities that they provided were also amazing to integrate into the experience. The food was delicious considering I was struggling to comply with the Ayahuasca Dieta leading up to arriving at Blue Morpho. It was a home away from home, if not better! The friendships made there are lifelong and the staff have given us their personal contact info for us to reach out whenever we might feel the need. Plus they include a few free courses on their website to help with afterwards and the integration process. Totally worth every penny! I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much Blue Morpho! You all helped change my life for the better…along with many others if not all in our group =D

Life has been such a beautiful journey since my time at Blue Morpho. I can’t even begin to tell you how transformative the experience was, and how much has changed in my life. I feel like a completely different person. Looking back 8 months later, I can honestly say that it might be the single greatest and most transformative thing I’ve ever done in my life.

Before I went to Peru, I was broken and had no idea what I was going to do with my life. The reasons I went to Peru were for some deep introspection and healing. I’ve been haunted by my past for a long time. I made tons of stupid mistakes growing up that I’ve always held onto. I’ve been so hard on myself for them. I was constantly punishing myself and telling myself I wasn’t worthy or didn’t deserve the life I’ve wanted. I felt lost and completely weighted down. I had so much mental and emotional baggage, but I was able to completely purge myself of that in Peru. I had always thought there was something wrong with me. Ayahuasca helped me to see how wrong I’ve been, and to embrace and be completely comfortable with who I am. I forgave myself of my past and let go of everything I had been holding on to. I physically felt weighed down and so heavy. I no longer feel that. I am as light as a cloud. I can’t even begin to tell you how radically different my thinking process is now than it was before Blue Morpho. I’ve removed myself of almost all of my limiting beliefs. I am learning to no longer doubt myself, and I’ve become a complete believer. I’ve been on a mission since Peru. I feel like I have so much momentum. I feel like ever since Peru I’ve been making all of the right choices, and like I’m starting to finally figure out what my purpose and mission in life is.

Thank you Blue Morpho for helping me to discover all of this! I’m looking forward to the day that I can go back again and do some further work and exploration. I can’t rave enough about Hamilton, Sameer, Anna, Terri and all of the Blue Morpho staff. They have created such a warm and safe environment within the camp that you feel at home and among family. I left there feeling closer to everyone at Blue Morpho than I do to everyone else in my own life. The facilities are also beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious! I could go on and on and on. I wholeheartedly recommend Blue Morpho to everyone!

    Hi there!

I was at Blue Morpho in October 2018 and I can whole heatedly say that it was the most amazing week of my life. The family at Blue Morpho welcomed me with open arms, they expertly guided the nervous tension we all arrived with into a calm energy the group took into ceremony that night.

The facilities at the resort I found to be quite impressive, I felt safe and looked after with fly netting on all the buildings to security guarding the premises. Hot water after a long ceremony was a rare treat… I even think they have a pool now!!

The food was beautifully prepared and I never went hungry or wanting for something which is quite a feat on an Aya diet!

Blue Morpho shines when the sun goes down though, the ceremonial space the Maestros create is truly unbelievable and something to be experienced. As someone who (by my standards) jumped in the deep end I felt guided and looked after, was given the space to work through what I needed but never felt like I was alone through the experience.

You can read countless reviews on retreats and shamans but from my experience, if you go to Blue Morpho with an open mind and an intention to heal and grow you’ll walk away with that and so much more.

I have an immense respect and love for the team at BM and can’t wait for the day I’m able to return!

I have attended Blue Morpho a couple times in the past few years. It has helped transform and change my life. After a rough adolescence and serving in the Marine Corps, I had a lot of fear and suppressed anger in my psyche which was manifesting in very unhealthy ways in my waking life.
The maestros and helpers worked with me at a pace which suited me, and didn’t push me past where I was comfortable. This was very integral in my healing process for this part of my life. I intend to continue going and can only highly recommend the professionalism and medicine practiced here :).

I completed a Blue Morpho tour in mid-January of this year and I have to echo the sentiments of others who have written reviews here. There are no words that can faithfully capture the power, beauty, and profundity of an ayahuasca experience, because it is so far beyond the reach of the mind to understand. It can only be experienced with the heart and the totality of the energy centers of the body. (That sounds like fluffy stuff, but anyone who has experienced ayahuasca knows this instinctually.)

That said, bear in mind that it is an extremely powerful plant medicine and should be experienced in the correct environment. I did a lot of research on all the different options for trying ayahuasca and I have to say I cannot be happier that I chose Blue Morpho Tours. Here are the main reasons why:

    1. You will feel safer than you do in your own home. Maestro Hamilton, founder of Blue Morpho, has lived in the Amazon jungle for nearly two decades, much of that time training under Maestro Alberto, who comes from a lineage of more than seven generations of shamans, who have dedicated their lives to plant medicine. The level of their experience far surpasses that of any other shamans I’ve researched. They are prepared for all contingencies in an ayahuasca ceremony and know how to address each one most efficiently.

    2. You will feel loved. The relationship between Maestro Hamilton and Maestro Alberto is born out of love, first and foremost. This relationship is at the epicenter of everything Blue Morpho represents and permeates the entire organization. Nothing about the retreat experience feels transactional. From beginning to end, every member of the staff, including the managers and assistants, radiates love (both for plant medicine and for you) and is genuinely invested in your healing and evolution as human beings. It’s important to note that an ayahuasca ceremony can be incredibly physically and psychologically challenging on many levels. At all times, someone was available to bring me a bucket, assist me to the restroom, walk me to the shower, and even wait until I’d fall asleep. I don’t think I could ask for that level of care from my own mom. 😛

    3. Listening to Hamilton Souther can be liberating and transformative in and of itself. Hamilton is a very quirky soul and can come across as brusque at times, but he is an absolute sage and draws on worlds of wisdom. Listening to him speak on a variety of topics helped me to shift some of the basic assumptions that have always guided my beliefs. The latter in turn has helped me to become more non-judgmental and understand how I can heal myself through honing my connection with the universe. I have no words for my gratitude.

    4. The icaros that are sung during ceremonies transported me to a different realm. Both the maestros have incredible voices that complement each other very well. I personally wasn’t expecting much from an icaros but when I heard the music in the ceremonies, it touched my spirit in ways I can’t describe.

    5. This is about as authentic an experience as you can get. The Blue Morpho lodge is set in a beautiful, rustic area of Iquitos. This is a place to commune with nature in an environment where the indigenous people of Peru first began to experience the magic of ayahuasca medicine. I’ll never forget the sounds of the birds serenading me to sleep outside the ceremony house at night and waking me up the next morning.

    6. If you like efficiency and time management, you can’t go wrong here. Blue Morpho has been around for nearly twenty years. For that reason, everything functions like clockwork. Breakfast and lunch are delicious and served on time. The ceremonies begin on time every evening. And yet, nothing ever feels rushed.

    7. You’ll get a deeper ayahuasca experience here than anywhere else. This was the only place I could find that offered five ceremonies within a week. While the number of ceremonies doesn’t determine everything, it certainly helps. I found the first three ceremonies helpful to just get my body adjusted to the medicine, and then went a lot deeper in the final two ceremonies.

    8. If you’re at all interested in having an aya experience with a company that is invested in natural resource conservation and sustainable development, Blue Morpho is the place. As Hamilton said many times during my retreat, “what’s the purpose of enlightenment if we go extinct?” Blue Morpho is developing partnerships around the world to help with research and development efforts to aid the well-being of the planet.

I hope to go back soon.
