Arkana Spiritual Center

Iquitos and Urubamba in Peru

Our Program
At Arkana, we create the space for you to get in touch with your truth, opening your path for deeper meaning and greater fulfillment in your life. We work with ancestral medicines such as Ayahuasca, San Pedro, Bufo Alvarius, Rapé , using the traditional practices of the indigenous cultures of the Peruvian Amazon. We currently operate two centers in Peru, one in the Peruvian Amazon and a second one in the Sacred Valley (close to Machu Picchu), and one in Mexico, the choice is yours.

With great respect for the plants and the knowledge and healing that comes with them, our lineage of Shipibo shamans set the stage for truly deep and profound healing. Awaken your inner power through their sacred and powerful icaros (healing songs), and discover your connection to all things by exploring some of the 2.2 million hectare Pacaya Samiria National Reserve which is our backyard. Nourish your body and soul with fresh, clean, delicious meals that promote your Ayahuasca experience, and integrate healthy habits into your routine with our yoga classes and extensive selection of gym equipment for all levels. We believe the health of physical body sets the foundation for the health of the energetic body – Often ignored in this type of spiritual work, we find this to be an important part of the healing process, so you can begin implementing the healthy habits that will carry this work with you into your life back home. Finally, relax your mind and spirit with sound baths, meditations, breathwave sessions, and OM circles, or simply enjoy the tranquil views of both sunrise and sunset from our front porch on the banks of the Ucayali River, surrounded by lush biodiversity and the mesmerizing sounds of the jungle.

Arkana’s exceptional team of highly-trained Shipibo Master Shamans represent an unbroken lineage of plant medicine work. With a combined history of over 70 years of experience working closely with Ayahuasca and other master plant teachers of the jungle, our compassionate healers lovingly share their teachings, healing songs (icaros), capabilities, and knowledge with integrity and honor. We strive to maintain the traditional practices passed down through thousands of years of indigenous Amazonian culture, in order to continue to promote the true purpose and nature of plant medicine work.

Experiencing the medicines with us is a transformative personal journey, and so much more. We also work closely with our local community, the Amazonian village of Libertad, to ensure that our Center can benefit and give back to the people who have so generously let us into their homes and hearts. We create employment opportunities, teach free English classes, provide a space for the ladies to sell their handmade crafts, and assist in construction projects, among other things. Our latest endeavor is outfitting the entire village with free solar panels, so every house can have light and electricity. When you join us, you are helping the rainforest and the Amazon communities that live here.

Guests that come to our Center often say they feel like “part of the family” with us – that’s no coincidence, as we are one big family at Arkana! The people that are with you throughout your experience can simply facilitate your own healing journey or become an integral part of it. Our experienced, loving, and professional team of caregivers welcomes you to join our tribe, where we strive to make you feel at home and at ease, supported and cared for with all the love and compassion that is at the core of the plant medicines and people we work with.

Ayahuasca is a powerful medicine that offers us the opportunity to understand our true nature, by shining a light onto our darkness, and holding a mirror up to our fears, negative thought patterns, and self-limiting beliefs. We provide the environment and expertise of a team of highly skilled, warm, compassionate Shamans and facilitators to guide you through the process of awakening, of choosing differently, healing, and expanding. It is a slow but steady path towards freedom – from fear, from illusion, from self-constructed boundaries – resulting in a lighter, brighter, more authentic self, and the full experience of love. It is our honor to help you on this most fulfilling of all journeys: the journey back home.

We look forward to having you with us!

Lots of Love,
The Team

I love this place! I have made three trips to Peru and won’t even consider going anywhere other than to Pulse tours Ayahuasca Adventure Center. The shamans and staff are incredible. Wiler the head shaman is incredible, and Angelita has become unbelievably powerful in her own right. The ceremony facilitators are some of the kindest, most caring and loving people I have ever had the good fortune of meeting. They are always right there when you need them. Working with the medicine can be very difficult at times and I can’t imagine drinking it without the love and support given by the staff at Pulse. These people know what they are doing and always seem to know just the right things to say and do to help make the experience as smooth as possible. I will be returning to the jungle to continue my work with the medicine, and when I do go back, I will only go with Pulse tours.

I was in Pulse Tours for 12 ceremonies, 21 days in November 2016. Mother Ayahuasca has done everything possible, so that I came to this center – the events and people capabilities – it all came together in one single chain of events, not giving the opportunity to turn aside. I am grateful for this opportunity. I myself hardly dared to this desperate step 🙂 I met these people, who have given me the opportunity to apply for a job where I could easily go for a month, almost without notifying the authorities – and no one blamed me. Only paid regular salary at the beginning of next month. I had enough money to buy a tour in the Pulse Tours and pay for round-trip tickets. And finally – I was mentally prepared for this trip, too, for what many thanks to Mother Ayahuasca.
Center greeted me with friendly staff and interesting people from all over the world. With them, I was learning not only the inner world of medicine and the world of Ayahuasca, but the real world with all its confusion and complexity. My knowledge of the real world were not as extensive as I thought. These people were clever and open-minded – what I lacked in recent years. I learned from them English. I learned from them life. The center has everything necessary for living and ceremonies. All you need to take with you – a couple of sets of clothing and a small bottle of mosquito repellent. And balm from the bites, because It seems these creatures bite mainly when you sleep. Clothes do not need much, because most time I was almost naked. Problems with the toilet and shower were not – in the center there are 6 toilets and 6 showers. On the third day shaman has appointed me personal diet, and I ate in accordance with the requirements of the diet. Diet greatly assisted in the ceremonies, feel the support of the power plant, with whatI started a diet. Up to 6 all Ceremony was held in a positive manner, until I decided on a double dose 🙂 Mom showed me everything! All next ceremonies, I was fighting with my fears, and universal sadness. But here it ended 12th ceremony and struck love and happiness to me, what has never happened before in my life. Thanks Mom Ayahuasca! Thanks Pulse Tours, thanks shamans Willer and Angelita, thanks Dolan, Tamara, Valentina, Melissa. Thank you to all the employees who have helped all these days – clean, wash, cook, carried on excursions. It was very interesting and fun. I’ll come again! 🙂

I recently returned from a 7 day retreat with Pulse Tours at their Ayahuasca Adventure Center and I’m already looking to book a trip back next year. It was apparent to me within the first interactions with the shamans and facilitators that they all are genuinely kind souls, full of love and light, and absolutely have your best interests in their hearts. This became even more evident during and after our first ceremony as they helped to guide me through the process while making me feel safe, respected, and loved. These feelings continued to persist throughout my entire time at the Center. The Center itself is beautiful and peaceful and about 3 hours from Iquitos (by bus and boat), so I felt I could completely release all outside worries and give myself fully to the experience. It was easily one of the greatest experiences of my life and I would recommend to anyone who is ready to break open and explore the potential within themselves.

I recently returned from a 7 day trip at the Ayahuasca Adventure Center. Prior to booking my trip with Pulse Tours, I was planning on going to another place near Cusco and then randomly stumbled across AAC while researching online. I’m glad I made the switch because I had a great experience. All the other ancillary activities (jungle excursions, hanging out with monkeys/ sloths, the gym were a big selling point for me as I wanted to do some ecotourism while out in Peru as well.

I have read that some people feel that these activities commercializes the ayahuasca experience and I would have to disagree. First off, the activities are optional and a couple people did opt to stay at the center. Secondly, they are a great way to further immerse yourself in nature and I felt were a great compliment to the plant medicine.

My only ‘complaint’ and this may not be specific to Ayahuasca Adventure Center is that I felt the medicine wasn’t that strong. Now, I am more than willing to admit that I could be a victim of my own expectations or due to a variety of personal reasons. Of the first 3 ceremonies, they were mainly visual and not as spiritual as I would’ve liked. The 4th ceremony I did break through to some degree and felt like I had made some progress on what I had set out to do.

Overall, I would recommend this center. The location is fantastic. The center is a spectacle in and of itself — an elevated labyrinth of connecting tree huts. And lastly the staff. They were wonderful and I’m very appreciative of everything they did, with special thanks to Dolan and Tamara.
