Our Program
At Arkana, we create the space for you to get in touch with your truth, opening your path for deeper meaning and greater fulfillment in your life. We work with ancestral medicines such as Ayahuasca, San Pedro, Bufo Alvarius, Rapé , using the traditional practices of the indigenous cultures of the Peruvian Amazon. We currently operate two centers in Peru, one in the Peruvian Amazon and a second one in the Sacred Valley (close to Machu Picchu), and one in Mexico, the choice is yours.
With great respect for the plants and the knowledge and healing that comes with them, our lineage of Shipibo shamans set the stage for truly deep and profound healing. Awaken your inner power through their sacred and powerful icaros (healing songs), and discover your connection to all things by exploring some of the 2.2 million hectare Pacaya Samiria National Reserve which is our backyard. Nourish your body and soul with fresh, clean, delicious meals that promote your Ayahuasca experience, and integrate healthy habits into your routine with our yoga classes and extensive selection of gym equipment for all levels. We believe the health of physical body sets the foundation for the health of the energetic body – Often ignored in this type of spiritual work, we find this to be an important part of the healing process, so you can begin implementing the healthy habits that will carry this work with you into your life back home. Finally, relax your mind and spirit with sound baths, meditations, breathwave sessions, and OM circles, or simply enjoy the tranquil views of both sunrise and sunset from our front porch on the banks of the Ucayali River, surrounded by lush biodiversity and the mesmerizing sounds of the jungle.
Arkana’s exceptional team of highly-trained Shipibo Master Shamans represent an unbroken lineage of plant medicine work. With a combined history of over 70 years of experience working closely with Ayahuasca and other master plant teachers of the jungle, our compassionate healers lovingly share their teachings, healing songs (icaros), capabilities, and knowledge with integrity and honor. We strive to maintain the traditional practices passed down through thousands of years of indigenous Amazonian culture, in order to continue to promote the true purpose and nature of plant medicine work.
Experiencing the medicines with us is a transformative personal journey, and so much more. We also work closely with our local community, the Amazonian village of Libertad, to ensure that our Center can benefit and give back to the people who have so generously let us into their homes and hearts. We create employment opportunities, teach free English classes, provide a space for the ladies to sell their handmade crafts, and assist in construction projects, among other things. Our latest endeavor is outfitting the entire village with free solar panels, so every house can have light and electricity. When you join us, you are helping the rainforest and the Amazon communities that live here.
Guests that come to our Center often say they feel like “part of the family” with us – that’s no coincidence, as we are one big family at Arkana! The people that are with you throughout your experience can simply facilitate your own healing journey or become an integral part of it. Our experienced, loving, and professional team of caregivers welcomes you to join our tribe, where we strive to make you feel at home and at ease, supported and cared for with all the love and compassion that is at the core of the plant medicines and people we work with.
Ayahuasca is a powerful medicine that offers us the opportunity to understand our true nature, by shining a light onto our darkness, and holding a mirror up to our fears, negative thought patterns, and self-limiting beliefs. We provide the environment and expertise of a team of highly skilled, warm, compassionate Shamans and facilitators to guide you through the process of awakening, of choosing differently, healing, and expanding. It is a slow but steady path towards freedom – from fear, from illusion, from self-constructed boundaries – resulting in a lighter, brighter, more authentic self, and the full experience of love. It is our honor to help you on this most fulfilling of all journeys: the journey back home.
We look forward to having you with us!
Lots of Love,
The Team

I just completed my second retreat at Arkana, and I can only say thank you.
Both of my retreats have been wonderful experiences for me and my family. They have changed my life in many ways.
Arkana is a safe space where you can take the time to reconnect with yourself, your essence, and who you truly are. It’s not just a place to experience healing and open your mind to the magic of the universe, which is sometimes even beyond explanation, but also a beautiful space where the entire team takes care of you and makes you feel at home.
The food is incredible; from the first day, you can feel the effects of good nutrition as your body and mind find balance. An experience that every human being deserves to have. When one of us heals, our loved ones heal as well.
Eternal gratitude to this wonderful place, Arkana.

August 26, 2024 at 3:55 pmI had done a lot of research before I chose the retreat that I felt was best for me. A lot of the retreats were very expensive, $10,000-$15,000, which some may consider a little steep for seniors, retirees and those on a fixed budget.
So, I chose Arkana In Peru for my first experience and it was the perfect choice. First of all it was affordable, the staff was warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was prepared fresh daily, and it was both healthy and delicious.
The ceremonies were sacred, the Sharman’s were spiritually grounded and experienced in the process with the different plants. And we received an added bonus, the owner of the spiritual center was there with us during our week. He is an amazing human being, warm, friendly, loving, very humble and dedicated to providing a safe place for all those seeking change in their lives.

August 21, 2024 at 7:10 pmI didn’t really know what to expect on this retreat or with the medicine and went on a whim with my elderly tía and dad as this was my tía’s idea. I was given so much through the medicine and the maestros!! The facilitators treated me and my family with so much care and concern and were so attentive and helpful throughout our stay! The maestros and each facilitator (Tamana, John, Imani, Stacy, and Chandler) held space for myself and my tía especially when she was feeling frightened and ready to leave! Everything about Arkana was beautiful and well thought out! The chef and his meals were delicious! The guides that took us out Falcon and Pecho were great! Each maestro and their Icaros were beautiful Maestro Samuel, Maestro Luis, and Maestro Grimaldo are out of this world! I left Arkana with an immense sense of gratitude and steadfast desire to change because I was changed and I am a changed person! Thank you Tamana and Nina for providing Spanish translations for my family and each of the facilitators for taking such great care of us as we opened ourselves up to become vulnerable! The price is high but having had the experience I did I honestly can say that it is worth it! I hope to return again with more of my family and loved ones!

August 17, 2024 at 12:09 pmI recently had the incredible opportunity to attend a retreat at Arkana Spiritual Center, where I had my first experience with Ayahuasca. The serene and tranquil environment, combined with the knowledgeable and friendly staff and facilitators, made for a truly transformative experience. The shaman led ceremonies were conducted with care and respect, creating a safe and sacred space for healing and spiritual growth. The Ayahuasca itself was powerful and allowed me to gain deep insights, release emotional baggage, and connect with my inner self on a profound level. The workshops and activities offered were engaging and thought-provoking, enhancing my overall experience. The accommodations were comfortable, and the food was always delicious. I left Arkana feeling more centered, at peace, and full of gratitude. I highly recommend Arkana to anyone looking for personal growth and spiritual awakening.

August 15, 2024 at 2:26 pmI was not sure what to expect when signing up for this retreat, and any expectations I could have had were completely blown away. This experience has changed my life in beautiful and profound ways!
The medicine gave me what I was open to, and exactly what I needed. So, so happy and grateful. I made new friends and I am still in touch with many of them.
The accommodations, while not lavish for the city, are very lavish for the jungle. Everything were comfortable, clean, and intentional. I swam in the pool every day, and had time to swing in a hammock and nap, journal, and chat.- usually under the watchful eye of our favorite little sloth resting in the neighboring tree!
The food was exceptional. Grown local and prepared with intention. Bright colors. Fresh fruit juice each day.
Everything about Arkana Amazon seemed to be prepared and planned with intention. The schedule was structured, while allowing for flexibility. The staff was attentive and educated, while allowing for each individual’s unique experience. The shaman welcome you as a member of the tribe and do the deep work of healing with intention and generosity. They offer it with a smile. The Q&A session with the shamans on the 3rd day made this evident. Such an incredible gift.
This experience is a clear highlight of my travels over the years. If healing and plant medicine calls to you, I highly recommend visiting Arkana.
